"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him." Colossians 1:15-16

Harper's Prayer Blog

This blog has been started as a prayer book for Harper Brown Stamps, born on January 16, 2009. Harper was born weighing 9 lbs and 12 oz, but immediately began having trouble breathing. Join us in praying for the healing of Harper's little body, for her parents Scott and Kelly, and for the doctors treating. Please feel free to leave your prayers and encouragement for her here. If you wish, leave your name, where you live, and a link to your blog.

Kelly and Scott,
Know that we are on our knees for you praying and pleading for the healing of your precious baby girl. I pray that this blog is a place of encouragement and hope for you - a place where you can come and draw strength knowing that our mighty and powerful God knows you, and knows your baby. He, and only He, is the miracle worker who formed Harper in your womb, and who created her for a special purpose. We, here in blog land, love you dearly and look forward to the day we see pictures on your blog of a bubbly little girl playing with Dawson!

On our Knees,

Scott and Kelly,
"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit hemself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will." Romans 8:26-27
When I first heard of Harper's condition on Friday night this verse immediately came to mind. Of course, I prayed for her healing...and at that moment it was so overwhelming that I asked the Spirit to intercede for me, for Harper, and for both of you. When our heart aches so deeply and when we are overcome with such emotion....He goes to the Father with groans that we cannot express. And for that, we are so grateful. I truly believe that each and every person posting prayers for Harper will commit to pray for her EVERYDAY until the day she is at rest in your arms at her home in one of her monogrammed dresses.
In Him,

T-shirt info.

I just want everyone to know, in case you're wondering, I am NOT, in ANY way, receiving a profit from these t-shirts. The company that we are working with is donating $10 to Harper. It does cost them some money to make the shirts, therefore, that is where the other $10 is going. I know that some of you have felt that myself or Melissa are making a profit on these, but I can assure you that that is NOT the case. The only thing I'm receiving in return is the JOY that comes with doing something to help my dear friends ~ Kelly, Scott and sweet Harper. Please, if there are any more questions, just ask! :) Thank you, Jess :)

You will truely have a testimony one day when you can talk. I loved the picture of you smiling. My heart jumped for joy to see you off of the ventilator and eating a bottle. God is Great!

Prayers from Indiana!

Harper,
You have made wonderful progress today! Keep it up pretty girl!
Sending prayers and positive thoughts to the entire Stamp's family!

With love,
Ruthann

Hello sweet Harper girl!
At this point in your little life you have no idea what is going on around you. You have no idea how much you are loved by your family. You have no idea how much hurt your parents are feeling that you are sick. You have no idea how many people prayed for you before you were even created in your mother's womb and you have no idea how many people are praying for you now! {It's a lot, btw:-)}
Every child is a sweet and perfect gift from above.
Every child is created with a purpose. Your purpose{and you are already fulfilling it by getting better}, is to show people what faith and trusting in God is really all about.
I am praying for you everyday. I am praying that you will continue to fight and get better.
I am praying for your parents, that they will continue to feel the love of God through all this. That they will cling to their faith and remember that it is through the rain that beauty is made.
I am praying for your doctors and nurses that they will continue to have the knowledge and wisdom to know what you need and when you need it. God is the ultimate physician and I am praying that His healing hand will continue to guide your medical staff in the right direction.
I am praying for your roommates, the rest of the NICU babies, that they will continue to fight and improve just as much as you are!
"We live by faith, not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7

Dear Lord,

Please watch over Harper as she grows stronger in the NICU. Please be with Kelly and Scott and give them the spiritual, emotional and physical strength they need during this trying time in their lives. Be with the doctors and guide their decisions in Harper’s treatment. Please give the doctors and nurses wisdom to do things at just the right time and in just the right manner that will enable Harper to get well as soon as possible.

Lord, I have seen your handiwork in the NICU first hand and know that you are in complete control. Please send a guardian angel to be by Harper’s side and to hold her hand through all of this.

In your name I pray, Amen.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

To Precious Harper and your sweet mommy and daddy,

I have followed your mommy's blog since before you even came to be and feel very much that we would be great friends if we lived near one another. I rejoiced with her and many others when we found out you were coming, and loved following the weeks and months of anticipated joy until you finally arrived. What a joyous day!

I find comfort in the scripture from James 5:15..."And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well..." Believe me, there are so many of us not only praying for you, but believing that you will be well and fully and completely healed. God has you in His mighty hands, I have no doubt about that.

Precious baby girl, you are a fighter and you have so much love surrounding you. God's plans are so much greater than we can imagine.

"Now to Him who is able to do IMMEASURABLY MORE than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory..." Ephesians 3:20-21

Lord, heal Harper and may all the glory be yours!

Prayers from Kansas...

Father God~
I lay sweet Harper in your hands and pray that you would hold her close to you in this time of need. Wrap your arms around her parents and family and carry them as they are look on and put their whole trust in You and the doctors in charge of their baby girl's care. As an NICU nurse I understand the anxiety they must be feeling and know that look of helplessness I see so often in a parent's eyes. I pray that you will totally and completely heal her little body and that she will have no long term effects from whatever is going on with her right now. I pray that you would keep her parents calm and you would give them a peace that can only come from You. Guide her doctors and nurses. Give them the knowledge and wisdom to give her the best care and the words to give the best updates to her parents. Let them be comfortable telling exactly what they think about Harper's situation and help them to relay the information in words that will help her parents understand exactly what is going on. I pray that you bless this precious little girl and hold her and love her. Get her through this time and may her time in the NICU only be a memory that her parents tell her when she's old enough to understand. Thank you.
In your precious son's name, Amen.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."

Prayers from Texas

Harper, sweet girl, you are a fighter! You are loved SO MUCH already by your mommy and daddy, Heavenly father, and strangers you don't even know. We are praying hard that God would put his healing hand upon you and heal your tiny body. One of my favorite verses that I pray for your family is this:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Keep fighting baby girl! We love you!

Prayers from Rural Arkansas

Scott and Kelly-

What an inspiration and a testimony to the great faith God has graced you with. As we walk the path God has designed for us, we never hope that this walk brings pain and suffering and illness, but sometimes it does...and it can't be explained...except to say that God is and always will be manning this ship and knows what He has in store for us. He is working miracles in Harper...I see it and feel it. He is bringing hundreds of thousands closer in their walk with Him through your trials. He is getting the glory for it all! It reminds me of the song "Glory" by Selah. In all this we should be continually singing "Glory to His name." I feel like I know you guys when the only "knowing" I get is from what I've been reading from Kelly's blog for over a year. You guys are loved by thousands and I continue to pray for Harper's full recovery. She is a tremendous blessing and is proving to be a fighter. What a story you have to tell her years down the road. And what a wonderful testimony to teach her about the AWESOMENESS of our Saviour. God bless you both and your families and Sweet Harper.

With love,

Dearest Father, I know that You are in the midst of all that this family is struggling through. I know that Your heart grieves for their grief but also rejoices because Your Name is being glorified through this. I thank You and praise You so much for that! It is so clear that You are working in this because You have drawn so many people from all corners of the earth to lift this family up to You. What an honor to be a part of that!

Father, I lift up sweet little Harper. I pray, Lord, that You will continue to touch her body and bring healing to her. I pray that this time of miraculous intervention will stay with her for the rest of her life, that she may always know beyond every shadow of a doubt that You are with her and that You passionately love her. May her life be fully devoted to following You and to glorifying You as she grows!

Father, I pray for Scott and Kelly. I cannot imagine the extremes of emotion they are going through as they watch their long-awaited daughter struggling for life and then turn around and see the amazing things You are doing all around them. Lord, they desire to be used to glorify Your Name, but I'm sure they would just as soon be able to do it with little Harper safe and healthy at home! I pray that You will give them all the strength they need to be used in the way You desire for them to be used while they are in the hospital. I pray that when they do go home, You will show them ways they can use this to minister. But above all right now, I ask that You bring them comfort, joy, and peace - only You can do that in the midst of such a terrifying time. Thank You, Father, that You give that to us!

Thank You, my Lord, for the incredible outpouring of prayer. Thank You for showing Your hand. Thank You for Your amazing presence. Thank You for showing that we can come together with nothing in common beyond a love for You.

Dear Lord Jesus,

You are mighty. You are the all-knowing, all-powerful God. I praise your name.

Harper is sick. She needs your touch. I ask you to heal her body. I ask that you perform a miracle even now. Please help her make a total turn around so fast that there is no doubt it was your handiwork. I know you love her with a love none of us can begin to understand. Thank you for loving her and holding her in your hand. Thank you in advance for answering our plea for Harper.

While you are doing a work on Harper, please be with Scott, Kelly, and their entire family. Give them a peace that only you can give. Give them rest, Lord. Thank you for their faithfulness to you.

I know when she is healed only you will get the glory. There are so many people focusing on this little baby, Lord, your name will be made great when you heal this darling girl.

I also ask, Lord, that you would be with every single baby in the NICU across the world right now. Bring healing to their body and comfort to their family, Lord.

In your precious holy name,

Amen.
